Song of the Day: "Circadian Rhythm (Last Dance)"

Damn this is a good song. Taken in tandem with yesterday's track from Phantogram I'm enjoying a celebration of Garbage who have a new album out and I should totally listen to it at some time.

Quote of the Day: Awkward Edition

"The dumbest thing I've ever read"--DNC spokesperson Eric Walker (via The Hill)
That quote is the subject of an email Walker sent in response to a Buzzfeed article suggesting that the DNC had poor cybersecurity. It came to light when Wikileaks released more than 19,000 emails with over 8,000 attachments, all hacked from the DNC. Hacked because the DNC had... wait for it... weak cybersecurity.
So far I've been told by the people talking over each other on TV or online that the emails reveal nothing really compromising or awful from Wasserman Schultz and also that the emails are the smoking gun that the DNC stacked the deck against Bernie Sanders and also are just Vladimir Putin's way of trying to help Donald Trump get elected and also proof that Hillary Clinton can't be trusted since obviously all the emails are always being hacked and therefore her personal email server stuff is also hacked and Benghazi3 and other things are also bad too.

Now Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D FL), is resigning as the head of the Democratic National Committee, which is probably preferable to being found dead, the victim of an apparent suicide in a federally managed park somewhere... It's happened before.

Wasserman Schultz is, of course, the person who disciplined the Sanders campaign when a third party vendor (NGP Van) screwed up and made Clinton campaign data available to Sanders's team: the Sanders campaign fired the only staff member who took advantage of this and alerted the Clinton campaign immediately (which is to say they did the right things, right away). Wasserman Schultz did not discipline the third party vendor and, in one of those convenient coincidences that seems to happen all the time in Washington, it turns out she has a brother or cousin or some shit working as an executive at NGP Van. Also she was Hillary Clinton's campaign manager in 2008.

Which is how you know she's unbiased! She's not the campaign manager for her today, ergo no conflict of interest. The system works!
