Song of the Day: "King"

The Fabulous Clinton shared this on my Fb timeline yesterday and I got really excited because I foolishly thought the band had gotten back together. That Spandau Ballet show was so good I could see many 80s bands thinking about doing something similar.

Turns out King is the name of the song. The band is Years & Years.

Now I get the lack of 80s hair.

I'm sure the band is British because Clinton.

Great song but that's what I expect from the Fabulous Clinton (who is fabulous).

Happy Time!

Things are slowly getting better. I type that with some trepidation but dammit, they are.

Compared to monthly rent for $900
While I complain a lot about my teenage sons, David has really been a huge help with converting one of the duplex units to an Air B&B listing. He's there 4 or 5 days a week on average making beds and cleaning the bathroom and I'm almost able to afford to get a maid here to do the same thing (the irony being that David's not getting paid and then I'm paying someone else for the same thing... oh it's a complicated situation, trust me that's funny).

Even better: peeps love me! I mean they love a combination of David and me (but really me--it's my playful charm that gets them in and his clean beds that keeps that happy). Check out these reviews!!!

For Your Consideration: "Wishin' Boot"

Original Music & Lyrics, Saturday Night Live

20 years ago this category was filled with songs about how beating women is wrong and how the children are the future. Yawn.

Then came The Simpsons and songs like "We Put the Spring in Springfield" and "You're Checking In (A Musical Tribute to the Betty Ford Center)" started to liven things up. Things got great with "Dick in a Box" and "I'm Fucking Matt Damon" and a few songs from various Tony Awards. And here's another great potential winner (I'm torn between this and the Amy Schumer song I posted earlier).

I can't find the writing credits for the song, sadly.

Song of the Day: "Palace"

New music from Tanlines. If you're like me (and lucky for you, you're not) you'll recognize Natasha Lyonne as someone you remember from the 90s... or was it the 00s? Definitely her though; but you won't recognize the dude as a dude from Girls because you never got into that show because you prefer your comedies to actually be funny.

I really dig the song and now I want an all smooth-fi concert tour with Work Drugs and possibly Chromeo. Somebody get on that.
