Song of the Day: "Doubt"

Mary J. Blige's The London Sessions was one of my favorite albums of 2014 and remains in regular rotation in my various music players to this day.

There are few songs that could use a copy editor, but it's all minor (and in that minor-ness they stand out).

Still, I love diva-ing out with this song. And you will too.

Song of the Day: "Taken Away"

Out and proud for 30 years, Jimmy Somerville is easy to overlook in a sea of relatively closeted musicians (Michael Stipe, Kate Pierson Bob Mould, Elton John, Little Richard, Johnny Mathis) or, um, how do you describe Morrissey and Fred Schneider? But wait, wasn't Morrissey non-sexual or asexual (officially--gay as fuck off the record)? Props to Jimmy Somerville for providing the world the heir to Sylvester we all need. Before the Indigo Girls or Phranc or Erasure, Jimmy was there.

And 30 years later he's still there, with his little black case.

Song of the Day: "Burning Bridges"

You know what's cool? When that screenplay you were writing has the same name as a great song 15 years later.

Not that it will help me finish the damn thing but hey, still a sweet gesture.
