Song of the Day: "Shallow Breath"

The band's name, Early Morning Rebel, nearly guaranteed them a song of the slot. Tack on their listing as influences The Smiths and "Goodbye Horses" and I'm in.

I was confused that they say they are also influenced by great American murder ballads. Which is, apparently, an actual thing.

Anyway here we go.

And I wasn't kidding about the Cymbalta.

Song of the Day: "Beat of the Music"

You can SEE the musical talent
I was flying home from Florida ("Orlando: If your armpit had an armpit") and while listening to music on my tablet I flipped through whatever video service was in the seat back in front of me (DISCLAIMER: I was in row 1 and it was in the wall, not a seat back) and something about the video for this song caught my ear.

Not my eye, my ear. I'm not so shallow as to see a handsome young man (with his shirt on) and assume musical talent. Except I totally am (surprise, right?)... and here we are.

Also, ask your doctor about Cymbalta cause I am much more not suicidal or wanting to homicide on people today. Even people who aren't stalking me... "hey, I'm less bipolar and rage-y but seriously, don't push it."

They never have panda at Panda Express... what's up with that?

Song of the Day: "Love Never Felt So Good"

I'm pretty sure Michael and Justin where never near each other during their respective studio sessions. JT is possibly doing this post hoc duet as a favor for the label.

Frankly after Michael coldly replaced Freddie Mercury on "State of Shock" I'd like to replace Justin with Liza to give Michael the gay ass gay gay gay duet he deserves. Well, really Gary Glitter, a true pedophile.

Snap.

Song of the Day: "Favorite Scars"

I'm shamelessly crowd sourcing today's song--Hillery posted something about Cher being in Atlanta Monday night (it's secretly Monday as I write this, and then set the schedule thingy to post overnight, because I'm sneaky like that, like a cat or a stalker but I DIDN'T CALL YOU A STALKER no one in particular).

I'd be derisive of this selection if I was willing to make an effort to find a song myself. I'm not and here we are. Enjoy your teeth cleaning, denizens of Midtown and West Hollywood.

Song of the Day: "Good Kisser"

What's the deal with Usher. I like him, he's talented, but he's failed to register on any of my year-end lists, like ever.

Dude, why can't you hang?

I can't see this song registering either. Okay, maybe if Channing Tatum wants this to be our song at our commitment ceremony in August (the ceremony during which one or both of us is committed to a mental institution, duh).

The Venn diagram a day challenge, day 5

This is also belated. Whatever, it's not a contest.

Or is it?

(It's not.)

Okay, in retrospect I should have actually annotated that with actual temperature values since it might not be clear (despite using universally understood color codes like "orange=warm" and "blue=cool" that my mom wants it warmer in the house and I am dying like Shamu in a sauna.

But at least we're equally unhappy. Except I bet I'm more unhappy. But I'd never say that, not on Mother's Day.

Godzilla, aka Gracie
These new tracks from Elbow are somewhat inseparable but since I'm a day behind (at least) with new music, AND since they name check Godzilla, I've got not problem including both.

The songs don't suck either, but that's just a bonus at this point.
