Song of the Day: "Trouble's Lament"

The first single for Tori Amos's Unrepentant Geraldines, here 14th studio album.

This time she takes on Satan.

Or Santa.

I didn't read the article that closely.

Song of the Day: "White Pony" (redux)

On Tuesday I downloaded copies of both Roddy Frame's and Ben Watt's latest albums. It's been a long time waiting for music from both.

I wasn't able to listen closely enough to give a thorough review but I wanted to post a song before I pass out into a Xanax and humidity haze, and it seemed like I should share this track again. I don't know if a random passerby would listen to Roddy's voice and hear the warmth that I hear. But goddamn if you don't because this shit, damn, sweet and simple and just fundamentally awesome.

Good night.

I may replace this, I'm not sure it's a good example of a Venn.

Don't position the brand in a negative light

The Venn diagram a day challenge, day 1

This isn't actually a thing but I'm 1 Bud Lite Lime Straw-ber-Rita tall boy into my vacation ("vacation") and had this in my head and now, suddenly, it's a thing.

Also I'm participating in a 5k a week from Sunday. Which is the day after my pancake breakfast and walking tour of neighborhood gardens, chicken coops and beehives. I'll have a bullhorn, so get your ass over to Rabbit Hill Community Garden at 9:30 on May 17th.

Song of the Day: "Ladybird"

Ladybird
Will anything make Becky more viscerally angry as quickly as a new Natalie Merchant song?

How about this picture of a finger-wagging Newt Gingrich? No doubt explaining why Bill Clinton's infidelity was so awful as to require the House to impeach him. And explaining it to a girl, like her, who needs things explained.

"Now you see here little missy"
Wait, did I say explained? I meant mansplained.

To a girl.

How ya doing now Becky?

Song of the Day: "10,000 Weight in Gold"

I'm feeling this heavy. I mean, the number doesn't modify a unit of weight but just imagine something non-trivial, and that's me. I saw myself in the mirror. It was scary. And here we are. Turns out some friends think I shouldn't be like that and maybe I'm going to participate in a 5k or 2 (or more) this year.

Not to look all sexy again (although maybe if my fat clothes weren't too small that wouldn't suck) but to not have a coronary walking up stairs wouldn't be the worst.

We'll see.

Meanwhile, digging this from the last Head and the Heart. If not lyrically, the mood musically is perfect for today.

Song of the Day: "Kick Drum"

I think I owe the referral of this song to the Fabulous Clinton (who is fabulous).

I'm not 100% sure, but she's British and it's dance music, so I'm 97% sure. There's a remote chance the totally heterosexual Eric heard something whilst in the UK, or that Tate or T'Chris are referring something to me. Or Kim.

I'm going with the Fabulous Clinton. His ear for music is one of the reasons he's so fabulous.
