Song of the Day: "Black Out Days"

The first single from this recent Phantogram album has worked its way into my brain. Time to give another track a chance.

For no obvious reason this makes me think of foam parties from the 90s. Ever go to a foam party? Me neither.

Song of the Day: "Digital Witness"

We've talked about St. Vincent and whether or not she went to high school with Clark back in Dallas (here). Spoiler alert: no.

Her fourth album is self-titled. And this is from that.

Song of the Day: "Call Me"

Richard Gere in American Gigolo
This song by St. Paul and the Broken Bones should not be confused with the Blondie classic from American Gigolo (a movie I characterize as a great 70s movie despite its release in 1980). "Call Me" wasn't even nominated for an Oscar (it's the fucking song from The Competition, a movie I liked, that cock-blocked it and that's the outrage--the other 4 nominees that year are outstanding and deserved inclusion).

You don't even remember who was in The Competition, do you?

Not Richard Gere in Gravity Boots, that's who.

As for this song and band... whatev, They're no Richard Gere in Gravity Boots either. But the song doesn't suck.

Song of the Day: "Show You Off"

You guys, Dan + Shay are a super serious country music group and not just a couple of super handsome pretty boys who know how to play guitar and sing harmonies.

But even if they were just super handsome pretty boys, that would not be a barrier to my including them here.

Because I am just that shallow.

And so are you, whether you admit it or not.

Well that seems fair... and balanced

FOX News is truthfully reporting the whole "Obamacare is a huge failure and also what's up with Benghazi that Hillary totally covered up story" (details here).

And because some people are too fucking stupid to look at 2 numbers and think "this number is indeed larger than that number" without a slice of pie or a bar to help them, they have included an info graphic to help visualize that.

And that set of bars looks exactly like the set of bars I would produce in the cold, unflattering, dispassionately mathematical light of a Benghazi co-conspirator... on account of MATH!!!

Jesus fucking Christ.

Song of the Day: "(I Wanna) Channing All Over Your Tatum"

Where was I? Where?

And more importantly where were you? And why didn't you think this collaboration was worth sharing with me?

I blame you.

And to a lesser extent society.

And naturally Obama.

Fucking Obama.
