Song of the Day: "Rival Dealer"

When last we discussed Burial it was 2008 and we were reviewing the Mercury Prize shortlist. Remember how everybody thought he was Norman Cook (Cook having not created a new recording persona for nearly 4 months, he was due)? Me neither. Turns out I was not a regular blogger in 2008 (or 2014). But Burial was on the Mercury Prize short list and NME was sure he would win (actual winner: Elbow). Predicting the Mercury Prize is, apparently, not easy.

Rival Dealer is his tenth release if you count EPs, LPs and compilations but not radio mixes, singles or remixes.

And this is trip hop!!! I miss this shit!

Burial's real name is William Bevan, by the way. I can him Billy B, but we're close like that.

Song of the Day: "Into the Blue"

I'm posting this new song from Kylie without listening to it first because I'm trapped on a conference call and I'm bored but listening to this during the call would seem rude, probably.

Why post without hearing. Because reviews like this: "She is great! Can't wait for the release!"

I, too, often can't wait for the release but seldom is that associated with Kylie.

Song of the Day: "Silver Joy"

Damien Jurado, as somber as he ever was. Which is how I like him.

In case that wasn't clear.
