Song of the Day: "Don't Mess With Latexas"

I wanted to get another track from Menomena's Moms album, in light of Mother's Day tomorrow.

Moms, in case my specifically calling it out or the name don't tip you off, is an album about mothers.

I love it when a plan comes together.

Song of the Day: "The Dog is Mine"

Well, it's not so much that the dog is mine as the dog has claimed me.

One doesn't own the dog, the dog simply insinuates itself into your life, and like a new appendage or a human child, there it is.

K-os, Canadian. But we've been through that before.

Song of the Day: "Something"

Andrius Pojavis sings Lithuania's entry into the 2013 Eurovision song contest. It would never have crossed my path had PopBitch not pointed out these lyrics:
Because of these shoes
I'm wearing today,
One is called love
The other is pain
And you're welcome.

Song of the Day: "Snowblind"

Alpha Flight #6 "Snowblind"
(The London) Suede, back from the limbo called growing older and trying to figure out what the fuck you're gonna do with you're life, one presumes--Bloodsports is their first album since 2002.

I associate (TL) Suede with Wharton Rob, Dog Man Star being one of his favorites from 1994. Also Liz Phair, Tricky and Red House Painters. I was more or a Spin Doctors/Counting Crows guy.

Song of the Day: "New Light"

Somewhere between the heavy syncopation of Coldplay and of Keane trying to sound like Coldplay is Films of Colour who, if you didn't notice the superfluous u in Colour, are British.

That's about all I know of them aside from a distinct liking of this song.

So take that, no person in particular.

Song of the Day: "Tiff"

Polica with, you guessed it, Justin Verson. I guess he's decided he's the new Jack White.

Hooray for everything!

Bon overkill, party of one.
