Song of the Day: "Blue"

The band is First Aid Kit and this track is something I ran across via Folkadelphia on XPN2 (nee YRock on XPN).

I am sitting at Gate 30 awaiting my morning flight to Denver, then on to Portland where I will see the dogs and rejoice that I am in my own bed, for the first night in over a week. If the dogs will have me.

Happy Birthday Mom

I'm in Florida with my mother and Nana for mom's birthday, and yes, I AM one of her favorite things. Take that, whiskers on kittens!

Happy birthday dude! Rock on!

Song of the Day: "I'll Never Know"

I included Charli XCX in my review of others' 2011 singles list. This track is new for 2012.

In 24 hours I'll be on an airplane (or, possibly, changing planes in Denver's airport, waiting to return home to the puppies!!!).

Song of the Day: "Disparate Youth"

Ugh, I am sick. It's 32 degrees outside, I'm running the A/C at 67 in my hotel room, and I'm sweating. I think I spent 18 hours sleeping between 2:30 yesterday afternoon and this morning (I had a dream that I was a new judge on American Idol which is weird since I don't ever watch the show). None of this is important since it has nothing to do with today's song, a new one from Santigold. I think she was part of the Super Game half-way show with Madonna and M.I.A. and OMG M.I.A.showedhermiddlefingertothecameraandthatmeanslittlekidssawamiddlefingeronlivetelevision. A middle finger.

No wonder Whitney died.

Song of the Day: "Full Circle"

When I'm a little more organized I need to write up my reaction to the Oscars (SPOILER ALERT: zzzzz) and my vacation thus far with Sonya and her boys (boy dogs, mind you). Maybe this afternoon. Maybe during my flight to Orlando tomorrow.

Meanwhile here's new Ben Kweller.

Song of the Day: "DoYaThing"

Converse, the makers of the shoes I wore to my college graduation, has been paying for some really interesting musical collaborations recently. The latest is Gorillaz with Andre 3000 and LCDude (James Murphy is his actual name, but I like LCDude as a moniker even if the band is no more/on hiatus/whatever).
