Chances are I'm the biggest Ethel Merman enthusiast you know (unless you came here because you searched on "Ethel Merman" and you know yourself), and I'm willing to admit there's no nuance. She's a force of nature, and there's not really much room for subtle with a category 3 hurricane. I point this out because I listened to her take on "Do I Love You?" and, well, Ethel < Roddy Frame.
